Please DO NOT watch this video if do not want to see footage of a surgical operation.
I have included this clip on my site to show the true potential of hypnosis.
Hypnosis for anaesthesia has been around for many years.
In the 1800's James Esdaile, a Scotish surgeon based in India was interested in hypnosis or "mesmerism" as it was then known. He carried out hundreds of amputations with no anaesthetic. His patients suffered no pain.
Using hypnosis he managed to reduced the death rate from post surgical infection and fatal surgery shock from 50% to just 5%.
One of the more modern examples of hypnosis for pain control is with hypnosis for childbirth (hypnobirthing) which is becoming increasingly more commonplace.
